About Us

Formed in 1984 and formerly known as the Albany Police Pipes and Drums, the City of Albany Pipe Band has a rich and storied history performing at hundreds of events throughout the Capital District. Originally founded by members of the Albany Police Department, today the band is made of civilians and competes in Grade V of the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association and travels around the Capital Region playing to the delight of thousands.

We are a 501(c)(3) and gladly accept donations in any amount. All funds are used to further the education and awareness of bagpipe and drumming.
